By Barbara Pronin Wondering where to spend your hard-earned bucks in June? Lingerie will be cheap, but hold off on laptop purchases until the back-to-school sales begin next month, advises consumer watchdog DealNews.

The online advocate lists the nine best deals you’re likely to find in the coming weeks:

Lingerie. June is typically the month for sales at Victoria’s Secret, which has inspired other lingerie stores and online merchants to host competing lingerie sales. It’s a good time to stock up on the basics.

Dad’s Day dinner out. While bargain gifts for Father’s Day are less abundant than for Mother’s Day, you can buy Dad a discount dinner out. Restaurant.com may drop its $25 gift card down to as little as $2, and eateries like Spaghetti Warehouse and Medieval Times typically let Dad eat for free when you accompany him. Check local listings for others that do likewise.

Free fishing. Check your local area, because several states allow free fishing (no permit required) in public waterways in June in celebration of National Fishing and Boating Month.

$1 family movies. Several movie chains, including Regal and Cinemark, offer $1 movie tickets on second-run family titles in June. Each location has a different schedule, so check your local theater's showtimes.

Fresh produce. Get nutritious fruits and veggies at rock bottom prices beginning this month. You’ll find watermelons, strawberries, peaches, apricots, peppers, tomatoes, lettuce and cucumbers at as much as 50 percent cheaper than at midwinter highs.

Dinnerware. June is peak wedding season, and the best time to find deals on dinnerware, glassware, and small household appliances.

Pizza. Every month is a good month to eat pizza, but this month should see escalating pizza price competition. Look for deals at your favorite chain, and mangia, as they say in Italy.

Gym memberships. Better weather in June draws people out of the gym and into the outdoors for exercise - so if too much pizza is sitting on your waistline, this is the month to negotiate a deal for a bargain gym membership.
