Game night. Host a monthly game night at your place. Let your friends know in advance which game you'll be playing, whip up some snacks and get to it.

Snail mail chain. This fun throwback to pre-email days can be a treat. Create a chain of friends and promise to send a snail mail letter down the chain once a month. So, Susie sends a letter to Jim who sends one to Carl who sends one to Jessica, and so on.

Hike it out. Plan a monthly hiking venture with buds to stay active, explore the outdoors and catch up, face-to-face. Bonus: This activity can be dog and kid friendly, great for parents of pets and children.

Star gaze. Have a full moon star-gazing party. Pick a pretty spot, bring drinks, popcorn, chairs and blankets and post up for an astral attraction.

Art night. Get your creative juices moving with a monthly art night. Pick a project, let everyone know what supplies to bring, or buy the supplies yourself and ask everyone to bring $5.
